Side by Side
The documentary investigates the history, process and workflow of both digital and photochemical film creation. We show what artists and filmmakers have been able to accomplish with both film and digital and how their needs and innovations have helped push filmmaking in new directions. Interviews with directors, cinematographers, colorists, scientists, engineers and artists reveal their experiences and feelings about working with film and digital—where we are now, how we got here and what the future may bring.
(Thanks for the heads up Leo!)
Film or Digital? I’ve been asked this question numerous of times. I support film. Why? Because that was the medium that i was taught and where I’ve done the most of my creative growing as a filmmaker. However I’m currently trying to get my head around the Digital world. Yeah I’m only 25 but I seriously have an old spirit about me that likes a more direct hands on approach and digital talks numbers and bits..then i get lost and shutdown. That’s why I’m gonna take up some digital film courses. never hurts to learn.
